India again bans 118 chinese apps

 Government Said to Widen Chinese App Ban to Include More From Xiaomi, Baidu | Technology News

Yesterday, that was 2nd of September'2020, the Indian Government again banned around 118 Chinese mobile applications in our country, which it said are prejudicial to the sovereignty and integrity. 

These measures have been undertaken since there is credible information that these apps are engaged in activities which are prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defense of India, the security of the state and public order," the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology statement had said. According to the ministry, the move would safeguard the interests of crores of Indian mobile users. 

The banned apps also include one of the most downloaded games in India that is PUBG and, this ban is a blow for PUBG as India ranks no. 1 in the world in terms of PUBG downloads, accounting for roughly 175 million installs or 24 percent of the total downloads.

 It is said that the ban was announced a day after a senior Indian official said troops were deployed on four strategic hilltops after what Delhi called an attempted Chinese incursion along a disputed Himalayan border.

Now the app ban will give the Chinese firm and investors a negative signal, and even those who are waiting to invest in India will back-off, said Atul Pandey, a partner at law firm Khaitan & Co who has advised several Chinese clients.
